Central Iowans, just like the rest of the country, are facing a savings epidemic. As our financial burdens increase, our assets decrease. We are in the midst of an unprecedented savings deficit. People feel like they can't afford gas, let alone save for a house, car or other goal. Consequently, we pay for things with credit and use our savings accounts – the little that's there – to pay those bills.
A group of individuals, human service agencies, financial institutions and corporations came together to address this growing problem. Through this partnership, Central Iowa Saves was developed. Partners include:
The Asset Building Coalition of Des Moines
ISED – Ventures
United Way of Central Iowa
Foundation for Financial Planning
In addition to the above partners, Central Iowa Saves has also teamed up with Des Moines area banks and credit unions to bring Central Iowa Savers low-cost and no-cost banking products. Please visit our financial products page for more information.
